Frequently Asked Questions

How does transportation work?

When you register, you select a transportation option (Minneapolis bus, Indianapolis bus, or provide own). You will be mailed or emailed information about transportation depending on the selection you make. The buses will leave on the morning of December 29 from Bethlehem Baptist Church (Minneapolis) and Christ Community Church (Indianapolis) and return on the evening of January 2nd. If you select the "provide own" option, then you are responsible for getting yourself to and from the conference. If you bring your car, you will be responsible to pay the cost of parking. Parking information can be found on the hotel's web site. While you are at the conference, you will not need transportation since all the events happen in the hotel.

What does a typical day at the conference look like?

Every day at the conference we have 2 big rallies (morning and evening). At these rallies we have praise and worship, student testimonies, and a talk from one of our main speakers. In the afternoon, we have a few hours set aside for optional seminars where students can learn more about specific topics that pertain to the Christian life. A few examples of seminar topics include how to study the Bible, dealing with doubt, knowing the will of God, and Christian relationships. There is one free day in the middle of the conference where we will only have one rally that night.

Will I need to bring extra money to the conference?

None of your meals are covered for your time in Milwaukee, so you will need to bring money for food. Our hotel is connected to a food court, and there are many restaurants and sandwich shops within walking distance of the hotel. In years past, students have brought food to eat over the course of the conference, so they do not have to pay for many meals while at the conference.
You can also bring money to buy books at our bookstore. Our bookstore will accept cash or checks.
You will also need to bring money if you choose to go skiing or visit museums on the free day.

What are my options for the free day?

We will have a 4-on-4 basketball tournament that you can participate in (no additional cost). We are also providing the option to go skiing or snowboarding on the free day. You will be responsible for the cost ski/snowboard rental and your lift ticket. If you do not want to go skiing or play basketball, you are welcome to explore downtown Milwaukee, visit museums, go to a park on Lake Michigan. We will also be providing transportation to BayShore Mall, which is 8 miles away from the hotel.

If I am planning on going skiing, can I bring my own equipment?

Yes. We are planning on having room for you to fit your skis and snowboards on the buses.

Can I room with my friends?

When you register, you can write the names of other students in the box for "roommate preferences." Campus Outreach staff do their best to honor these requests.
